Scar treatment
with filler
Some scars (especially depressed/atrophic scars) can be subtly ‘lifted’ with a hyaluronic acid filler. The goal is a smoother skin texture and a softer transition into surrounding skin. We always aim for a natural result — no overcorrection.

About the treatment
“We improve skin texture by restoring volume where a scar pulls the skin inward.”
- Smoothing effect
- Subtle volume restoration
- Natural result
- Review & fine-tuning
Who is this for?
- Depressed (atrophic) scars, including some acne scars
- Scars that create a visible ‘dip’ or shadow
- If you want refinement without an invasive approach
When is filler less suitable?
For raised scars (hypertrophic/keloid) or scars with active inflammation, filler may not be the best option. Sometimes we advise other treatments (e.g., microneedling, peels, skin improvement). We’ll be honest during the consultation.
What to expect
Immediate results?
Often you see smoothing right away. Temporary swelling may occur.
Will it look natural?
We work in layers and correct subtly. The aim is softer transitions, not puffiness.
How long does it last?
Average 6–12 months depending on area, product and metabolism.
Our approach
1. Assessment
We assess scar type, skin quality and realistic improvement.
2. Plan
Technique (micro-injections, possible subcision if needed) and product tailored to you.
3. Treatment
Targeted filler placement to gently lift the scar. Duration ± 20–30 minutes.
4. Review
After 2–4 weeks we evaluate and fine-tune if needed.
Aftercare
- Avoid pressure/massaging the treated area for 24–48 hours (unless advised otherwise).
- Avoid intense exercise and sauna/steam room for 24 hours.
- Preferably avoid alcohol for the first 24 hours.
- Use SPF if the area is exposed to sunlight.
Safety & possible side effects
Possible: redness, swelling, tenderness or a small bruise. Rare: inflammatory reaction. We work sterile and use high-quality products. If you have concerns: contact us.
Frequently asked questions
Can filler remove a scar completely?+
No. The goal is improving depth/texture and reducing shadowing. Results depend on scar type and skin quality.
Is one treatment enough?+
Sometimes one session gives significant improvement. Deeper scars may benefit from a second session or combination treatments.
Can this be combined with microneedling?+
Yes, depending on your scar and timing. Combination plans can enhance results. We schedule it safely.
Does it hurt?+
Usually very manageable. If needed we use numbing and/or a lidocaine-containing product.
