Marionette lines run from the corners of the mouth downward. In many cases, muscle activity plays a role: the DAO muscle pulls the mouth corners down, creating a ‘stern’ or tired look. With botulinum toxin type A we can reduce that pull subtly.

Important to know
Not every marionette line is purely muscle-driven. If volume loss or deeper folds are the main cause, fillers (or a combination) may be more suitable. During the consultation we advise what fits your face best.

Aftercare
- Stay upright for the first 4 hours (avoid lying flat).
- Avoid intense exercise for 24 hours.
- Do not massage or rub the mouth area for 24 hours.
- Avoid sauna/steam room and alcohol in the first 24 hours.
Safety & possible side effects
Temporary redness, swelling or a small bruise can occur. Very rarely, there may be temporary weakness in certain mouth movements. This is why we dose conservatively and schedule a review.
