Upper lip lines
‘smoker’s lines’
Upper lip lines are fine vertical lines around the upper lip that develop from repeated lip movement (talking, pursing, using a straw) and skin ageing. With a small, carefully controlled dose of botulinum toxin type A we can subtly relax the muscle activity, often making lines look softer — while keeping a natural expression.

- Subtle softening
- Natural expression
- Quick treatment
- Review & fine-tuning
Important to know
Upper lip lines are not only muscle-related — skin quality and volume also play a role. That’s why we may recommend a combination (e.g., skin boosters, microneedling, or a small filler touch) for the best result. During the consultation we choose what’s medically and aesthetically smartest for you.
What to expect
When will I see results?
Usually after 3–7 days. Optimal effect around 10–14 days.
How long does it last?
On average 2–3 months. With consistent treatments, results can be more stable.
Will my lip feel ‘stiff’?
Not with proper dosing. We treat conservatively to keep speaking and smiling natural.

Frequently asked questions
Will it work if my lines are deep?+
For deeper lines, a combination with skin improvement (skin boosters/microneedling) or a small filler touch is often more effective. We’ll advise honestly.
Can I eat and drink right after?+
Yes. Just avoid rubbing/massaging the upper lip area for 24 hours.
Can I go back to work right away?+
Usually yes. Small injection marks may be briefly visible.
Is this the same as a lip flip?+
It can overlap, but the goal is different. A lip flip focuses on subtle lip eversion; upper lip lines focus on softening lines via micro-relaxation.
